However, this particular Bamya recipe takes a vegan twist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The dish is easy to prepare, making it a perfect choice for busy weeknights when you want something delicious but don&#8217;t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. If you&#8217;re curious about everyday Arabic cuisine, this recipe is a must try!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here is a very easy and yummy recipe for Bamya (okra stew).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ingredients\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">900 gms frozen <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/shanafoods.ca\/product\/whole-baby-okra-valuepack-201272\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shana Whole Baby Okra<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3 tbsp vegetable oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2 medium onions, chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tbsp minced ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">6 cloves garlic, diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/shanafoods.ca\/product\/green-chilli-201292\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">green chillies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1\/2 tsp black pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1\/2 tsp cinnamon powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tsp turmeric<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd tsp salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4 large tomatoes (blended or diced)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3 tbsp tomato paste<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd cup coriander (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Method of preparation<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Begin by finely dicing the onion and adding 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to a hot pan. Once it sizzles, add the onions and \u00bd teaspoon of salt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stir for a couple of minutes until translucent, add the garlic, stir for one minute, and keep a close eye on it so the garlic doesn\u2019t burn. Once the onions and garlic start to get brown a little, add tomato paste, and the diced tomatoes. Add \u00bd\u00a0 cup of water if necessary and let the sauce boil down until it gets dense and homogenous.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Add another tablespoon of vegetable oil as well as one whole pack of Shana frozen okra to the pan along with the minced ginger, cinnamon powder, black pepper, turmeric, and green chillies, which should be finely chopped.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mix them well and cook them for about 20 minutes until the okra is cooked through.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Check the softness of the okra, as well as the seasoning and adjust accordingly.
